We have listed some of our favourite sites here for cat enthusiasts.  It is important to be aware that some sites on the internet contain information which is not correct or has no scientific basis.  If your cat is unwell it is really important to check with your Vet before following advice given on the internet.  The sites that we have listed contain up to date information on cat health and behaviour.  Some of the sites are just for entertainment.

Feline Advisory Bureau : a charity dedicated to promoting the health and welfare of cats through improved feline knowledge.  www.fabcats.org

The Cats Protection : feline welfare charity based in the u.k.  Their website is full of basic information for owners about caring for their cats.  www.cats.org.uk

The Cat Professional : This website offers information and advice for cat owners and veterinarians.  It also publishes excellent books for owners of cats with specific health problems such as blindness and lower urinary tract problems.  www.catprofessional.com

The American Association of Feline Practitioners: this website is maintained by veterinary professionals passionate about the care of cats.  The website offers excellent advice about cat health topics.  Some of the information on this website is specific to american cat owners and may not apply in Ireland. www.catvets.com

Animal Care Society : a volunteer organisation committed to offering care to all animals in Cork who need it.  The A.C.S. has many cats and kittens looking for loving homes in the Cork area.  www.animalcaresociety.ie

The Cat Action Trust (cork) : a very small group of volunteers dedicated to the care of feral cats in Cork.  They run a neuter and release program for colonies and individual feral cats. They often have young and adult cats looking for homes.   www.catactiontrust.com

 Irish Animals.ie : a useful online rescource run by Denise Cox for pet owners and welfare groups across Ireland with a very useful lost and found section.  www.irishanimals.ie
