"...failure to maintain routine vaccination will place cats at increased risk of contracting disease" F.A.B. Feline Advisory Bureau
The Cat Hospital encourages all owners to vaccinate their pets. This is one of the most important actions an owner can take to protect the longterm health of their beloved cat.
Kittens start their vaccination program at 9 to 10 weeks of age. The course involves two visits to the vet 3 weeks apart. These visits are a great opportunity to discuss your kitten's health and general care with the Vet and the nurse at the Hospital.
You can protect your cat against cat flu (herpesvirus and calicivirus), panleukopenia (parvovirus), chlamydia, leukaemia, bordatella bronchiseptica (kennel cough) and rabies. All cats should be vaccinated according to their specific needs and risk factors.
Modern vaccination programs offer greatly enhanced safety. The cat hospital uses the 'Purevax' range of vaccines which offers great flexibility to tailor the vaccination program to your cat's specific needs.
The standard vaccination protocol in The Cat Hospital includes protection against Feline Leukaemia and we advise owners to protect their cats against this fatal disease. Feline leukaemia appears to be widespread in the Cork area and we have seen many cats die as a result of this fatal (and preventable) disease at The Cat Hospital since we opened in April 2009.
Annual veterinary examination is recommended for all pets and your cat's vaccination requirements will be discussed at this annual check up.
An annual check up including cat flu and leukaemia vaccination costs €45.00 including VAT.
An annual check up including cat flu vaccination costs €35.00 including VAT
